The U.S. judge refused to reconsider the ruling on the Powell case, and the appeal or delay of Woz's nomination confirmation.

ME News, April 4 (UTC+8), local time Friday: District of Columbia Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg denied the Department of Justice’s request to rehear the ruling in the criminal case against Powell. Previously, his ruling had blocked subpoenas issued in connection with the criminal investigation involving Powell. In a March 13 ruling, Boasberg said the subpoena issued in January last year to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve was issued for an improper purpose; its aim was to force Powell to accept the conditions of Trump’s demand that he quickly cut interest rates or resign. The subpoena to Powell was issued by Jennyne Peerro, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia (a staunch supporter of Trump). Peerro has pledged to continue the investigation and said her office is ready to appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. According to sources, senior officials at the Department of Justice support this appeal decision. This appeal could delay confirmation of Kevin Warsh’s nomination as Federal Reserve Chair. U.S. Senator Tom Tillis is a Republican member of the Senate Banking Committee; he previously criticized the investigation into Powell, and he vowed to continue blocking Warsh’s nomination while the appeal proceedings are underway.
