“Make a huge profit by grabbing oil”! Trump again calls for opening the Strait of Hormuz. Iran warns: It will destroy all U.S. and Middle Eastern assets in the region, as well as all assets belonging to China in the Middle East.
According to a report by Xinhua News Agency, on the 3rd, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on social media saying: “Give it a little more time, and we’ll easily open the Strait of Hormuz, take the oil, and make a fortune.”
Meanwhile, according to a report from Iran’s Islamic Republic of Broadcasting on the 3rd, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps public relations department said that on that day its navy and aerospace forces launched the 92nd wave offensive of “True Promise-4,” carrying out strikes against related targets of the United States and Israel.
Earlier, an Iranian military statement said that if the United States dares to take action against Iran’s infrastructure, Iran will destroy “all assets and infrastructure” of the United States and Israel in the Middle East.
Iran launches a fierce offensive in response to U.S. ceasefire proposal
On the 3rd, Fars News Agency reported, citing an insider, that the United States on the 2nd proposed a 48-hour ceasefire to Iran through a certain friendly country, and Iran responded with a violent attack.
The insider said that against the backdrop of tensions continuing to escalate and the U.S. military facing a serious predicament due to an incorrect assessment of Iran’s military capabilities, the U.S. side made this proposal. After the Iranian attack on a U.S. military warehouse on Bubin Island in the northern part of Kuwait, the U.S.’s diplomatic efforts to seek a ceasefire became even more urgent.
The insider said that Iran responded to the U.S. proposal by continuing to launch fierce attacks.
A downed fighter jet will not affect negotiations with Iran
On the 3rd, U.S. President Donald Trump, in a telephone interview with a NBC News reporter in the United States, said that Iran’s shooting down of a U.S. military fighter jet will not affect U.S.-Iran negotiations.
NBC News reported that during the interview, Trump refused to discuss the specific details of the U.S. military’s search-and-rescue operation inside Iran. However, regarding reports by some media about this “tense and sensitive” search-and-rescue operation, he expressed frustration.
When asked whether the incident would affect U.S.-Iran negotiations, Trump said: “No, absolutely not. No, this is war. We are in a war.”
Also on the 3rd, the British newspaper The Independent reported that in a brief interview with the paper, Trump said that if the crew of the aircraft that was shot down is captured by Iran, he currently cannot discuss what actions the United States would take.
Earlier that day, a U.S. Air Force F-15 fighter jet was shot down over Iran. U.S. military search-and-rescue aircraft and helicopters entered Iranian territory, found and rescued one crew member, and searched for another crew member. White House press secretary Leavitt said that Trump had been briefed on the incident in which the fighter jet was shot down.
Iran condemns continuously escalating war crimes and threatening rhetoric by the U.S. and Israel
On the 3rd, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly condemning the continuously escalating war crimes by the United States and Israel and threatening remarks such as “blowing Iran back to the Stone Age.”
In a statement released on the 2nd, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the war launched against Iran by the U.S. and Israeli regimes has lasted 34 days, “and every day reveals new layers of the aggressors’ brutality and hostility toward Iran and its people.” The U.S. and Israel have “crossed all bottom lines of law, morality, and humanitarianism,” and committed all kinds of crimes through war.
The statement said that in addition to carrying out terrorist attacks targeting the office locations of Iran’s Supreme Leader, senior officials, and commanders, the U.S. and Israel also attacked more than 600 schools and educational centers, numerous universities and research institutions, hospitals and medical facilities, historical and cultural sites and museums, as well as many of Iran’s industrial and production centers.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that U.S. officials, frustrated by Iran’s resistance and the failure of their “illegal objectives,” have intensified their aggressive rhetoric and threats. U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to attack Iran’s energy infrastructure, including remarks made on the evening of April 1, which is proof of hostility toward all Iranians.
The statement said that the U.S. side’s claim that it would “blow Iran back to the Stone Age” and destroy a power plant crucial to a country’s survival is violence and an illegal act intended to intimidate civilians, violating international law, and is extremely dangerous. The statement urged the international community to take decisive action in response.
Guterres calls on the U.S. and Israel to “stop”
According to CCTV News, on the 2nd United Nations Secretary-General Guterres spoke to the media and once again called on the United States and Israel to stop the war against Iran, while also calling on Iran to stop attacking neighboring countries.
Guterres said that this war is causing immense suffering to humanity and has resulted in devastating economic consequences. “We are on the edge of a wider war.”
Guterres emphasized that disputes must be resolved through peaceful means. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of all UN member states must be respected. Civilian infrastructure, including nuclear facilities, must be respected and protected.
