Breaking! Iran launches 5 waves of missile attacks on Israel within 10 minutes! Trump sets conditions for a ceasefire, Vance exerts strong pressure in negotiations. "The mediator": The president is already "impatient."
According to CCTV International News, on April 1 afternoon, local time, Israel was hit by multiple rounds of Iranian missile strikes, and reports from many places said there were loud explosions.
Statistics from Israeli media show that within 10 minutes, Israel monitored at least five waves of Iranian missile attacks, including in multiple locations such as Tel Aviv, where there were loud explosions and missile debris fell to the ground. Almost at the same time, Hezbollah in Lebanon launched rocket attacks on northern Israel. According to Israeli media statistics, in the just-past hour, Iran’s missile attacks on Israel were the most concentrated in a short period since the outbreak of the war on February 28.
An Iranian military source told the media that the number of missiles launched by Iran on April 1 had increased significantly compared with the previous two days, at about twice the single-day scale of the previous two days. Iran’s strike coverage included targets related to Israel, northern Iraq, and multiple U.S. military bases in the region.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson on April 1 said that U.S. President Trump’s comments about Iran’s request for a ceasefire were false and without basis.
On April 1, local time, Iran’s intelligence department issued a notice stating that in recent days in West Azerbaijan Province, through public tips and intelligence operations, it had seized a batch of intelligence communication equipment provided by the United States and Israel. In addition, Iran’s intelligence department also arrested eight people affiliated with a separatist organization during the operation, and detained one foreign spy.
On April 1 afternoon, while Iran launched large-scale missile strikes on Israel, the Israeli military said it was carrying out large-scale airstrikes against targets inside Iran. The Israel Defense Forces said the main targets of the latest round of large-scale airstrikes were “dozens of infrastructure sites belonging to the Iranian government” in the central area of Tehran, the Iranian capital.
On April 1, U.S. CBS News cited U.S. officials as saying that the U.S. military near Isfahan in central Iran had lost two more MQ-9 “Reaper” drones. To date, in its military operations against Iran, the U.S. military has lost 16 drones of that type.
Media reports say Trump has set conditions for a ceasefire:
“Specific requirements” from the U.S. side must be met
According to Xinhua News Agency and Reuters on April 1, citing officials, U.S. President Trump has instructed Vice President Vance to privately convey information to Iran: as long as “specific requirements” such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz are met, he is open to a ceasefire.
The report said that as of March 31, Vance was still discussing the Iran issue with “intermediaries.” Vance conveyed “tough” messages, saying Trump “is running out of patience.” He also warned that unless Iran reaches an agreement, Iran’s infrastructure will face increasing pressure.
Also, according to U.S. Axios News Network report 1 on April 1, three U.S. officials said the U.S. is discussing with Iran the possibility of reaching a ceasefire agreement on the condition that the Strait of Hormuz be reopened. These officials also said it is still unclear whether an agreement can be reached.
Earlier that day, Trump said on social media that Iran “has just requested a ceasefire from the United States,” but only when the Strait of Hormuz is open will the U.S. “consider” it. Later that evening, he will deliver a nationwide address on the Iran issue.
Iran reiterates that it will blockade the Strait of Hormuz as a countermeasure
According to Xinhua News Agency, on April 1 the office of Iran’s Supreme Leader posted excerpts from the first remarks by Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on social media, reiterating that it would continue to blockade the Strait of Hormuz as a countermeasure.
The office of Iran’s Supreme Leader also posted that Iran is studying the opening of “other potential fronts,” and believes that the opponent in the relevant fields “lacks experience and has clear weaknesses.” If the fighting continues, then after taking related factors into comprehensive consideration, “these fronts will be launched.”
On April 1, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued a statement saying that its navy had carried out strikes against multiple targets, and that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is under its “complete control.”
The statement refuted claims by the U.S. and Israel that Iran’s strike intensity has decreased. The statement said that since dawn on the same day, Iran, in its new round of military operations, used ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones to carry out multiple rounds of strikes against related targets. This is also part of the 89th wave offensive of Operation “True Commitment-4.”
The Revolutionary Guard Corps said its strike targets included some U.S. radar installations located in the Gulf region, an oil tanker belonging to Israel, and several military facilities. The Iranian side also fired suicide drones at the U.S. aircraft carrier group “Lincoln” deployed in the northern Indian Ocean, and said that the group has withdrawn from its original deployment positions.
The statement emphasized that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has been firmly controlled by the Revolutionary Guard Corps’ navy, and the strait will not be opened to the enemy due to the “showy actions” of the U.S. president.
In addition, according to Xinhua News Agency, on April 1 Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency reported that Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei, in an interview with the media, said that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is in good health, but has delayed making public appearances due to the war.
Baghaei told Egypt Today: “He (Mojtaba) is in good health. I think, in the current wartime situation, he may need some time before he can appear publicly; that’s not strange. But I assure you that the state, government administration, and national defense are all operating efficiently.”
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps:
If the U.S. and Israel carry out “terrorist actions,” there will be a reciprocal response
According to CCTV News, on April 1 local time, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that if assassination actions were carried out against Iran, it would strike the relevant U.S. “intelligence companies.” Subsequently, the U.S. Central Command issued a statement saying its forces would not attack civilian residences and denied any involvement in the related actions.
In response, the Iranian side said that the so-called “U.S. forces do not violate homes and civilian targets” is purely a lie, and there is incontrovertible evidence proving that the attacks on the residence of Iran’s Supreme Leader, the residences of some Iranian officials, and the attack on the Minab school were clear examples of “terrorist acts” directly carried out by the U.S. military.
The statement also said that U.S. forces openly joining and deeply participating in a “terrorist alliance” means that the U.S. military must be responsible for what the alliance does.
The statement said that regardless of whether the related actions are carried out by the U.S. side or the Israeli side, Iran will make a reciprocal response, and it said that the warnings previously issued against 18 companies are still effective.
On March 31, local time, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued an announcement saying it would treat companies and institutions related to 18 U.S. information and communications technology and artificial intelligence enterprises in the Middle East as “lawful strike targets.” The 18 companies include Cisco, HP, Intel, Oracle, Microsoft, Apple, Google, and others. The announcement said, “Employees of the above institutions should immediately leave their workplaces to protect their own safety,” and residents within a 1-kilometer radius around those institutions should also leave their homes and go to safe locations.
