Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Pakistan and Afghanistan are willing to sit down and negotiate again, which is a good thing.

On April 3, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mao Ning, presided over a regular press conference.

A reporter asked: Can the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provide more information regarding Afghanistan and Pakistan’s talks in China?

Mao Ning said: Since the BA conflict has flared up again, China has been mediating for dialogue in its own way, maintaining close communication with both sides through multiple channels and at multiple levels, providing a platform to create conditions for dialogue. Pakistan and Afghanistan both attach importance to and welcome China’s mediation, and are willing to sit down and hold talks again—this is a good thing. The process of talks is being carried out steadily and pushed forward. The three sides have consensus and made arrangements regarding specific operational models, including news reporting. If there is further information, we will release it in a timely manner.
