Shanxi's unconventional natural gas production increased by over 20% in the first two months

On March 25, a reporter learned from the Shanxi Provincial Bureau of Statistics that in the first two months of this year, Shanxi’s unconventional natural gas output reached 3.28 billion cubic meters, up 20.2% year over year, setting a new record for output in the same period. Unconventional natural gas refers to natural gas whose occurrence conditions in the subsurface and accumulation methods are noticeably different from conventional natural gas reservoirs, including shale gas, tight sandstone gas, coalbed methane, and others. Shanxi’s forecast of total unconventional natural gas resources is about 20 trillion cubic meters. (Xinhua News Agency)
