Cui Dongshu: Middle Eastern market disruptions do not change the overall trend of China's automobile exports growing
The CAAM’s (China Association of Automobile Manufacturers) Cui Dongshu wrote, saying: In recent years, China’s overall auto exports have maintained a strong growth momentum. The regional pattern of auto exports has completed phased optimization, and the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania have jointly become the core drivers of export growth. Although conflicts in the Middle East have continued in recent years and fighting between Israel and neighboring countries has escalated, China’s exports of automobiles to the Middle East have achieved steady growth by relying on regional market dividends. In terms of export structure, new energy deployment, and market competition, development features have been formed that fit local demand, and automakers have also completed the leap from exporting products to deepening their brand presence. This Iranian crisis is complex; although logistics disruption through the Strait of Hormuz has brought short-term cost pressure, I believe it is difficult to shake China’s core supply-chain advantages. I believe that automakers’ diversified response measures will deliver better results than those of other international automakers. At present, I still maintain an optimistic judgment on exports. Short-term disruptions in the Middle East market have not changed the overall growth trend of China’s auto exports.
