Galaxy Futures: Lithium Carbonate Supply and Demand Imbalance Not Prominent, High-Level Fluctuation

On the supply side, Zimbabwe’s lithium ore exports will have some impact on domestic supply after May. Lithium ore is currently in relatively high demand, and processing fees are falling. On the demand side, battery production scheduling is high; multiple cathode material projects added new capacity and began operations in April, and overall the market remains resilient. In March, the marginal balance between supply and demand eased; amid external turmoil, a strict regulatory environment remains in place. It will be difficult for lithium prices to reach new highs, but if prices drop sharply, buy-side support may still be present. We expect broad, wide-ranging price fluctuations. (Galaxy Futures)
