Zhitong Electronics' false statement case continues to escalate; eligible investors should not miss the opportunity to claim compensation.
Ask AI · How can the court loss calculation report advance investors’ claims process?
The number of claimants continues to grow in the securities false statement liability dispute case involving Zhitong Electronics (002197). Attorney Jingguo Zhao from Shanghai Xinben Law Firm said that he recently submitted to the court another batch of filing materials for investor-claim lawsuits.
Attorney Zhao said: “Regarding the Zhitong Electronics series of cases, public information shows that earlier investors received the court-issued loss calculation reports. This means investors’ losses have been clearly determined. The court will issue its judgment soon, bringing investors one step closer to receiving compensation.”
Looking back at the case: in November 2024, the Shenzhen CSRC issued an “Administrative Penalty Decision” to Zhitong Electronics. According to the findings, Zhitong Electronics, through a controlling subsidiary, Guangzhou Yunshuo, fabricated business dealings and signed purchase and sales contracts with no real goods deliveries and no business substance, which resulted in false records in the company’s 2017 and 2019 annual reports. Specifically, in 2017 it inflated profits by RMB 5.0774 million, accounting for 13.78% of the total profits disclosed for that period; in 2019 it inflated profits by RMB 0.84 million, accounting for 12.52% of the total profits disclosed for that period. In addition, a non-public offering document released by the company in 2021 also contained false records due to the use of the fabricated 2019 financial data.
According to the loss determination opinion, Attorney Zhao believes that investors who bought and held Zhitong Electronics shares during the period from April 24, 2018 to April 29, 2024 may claim compensation from the company, regardless of whether they sold the shares on or after April 30, 2024. Eligible investors can register through the official account “Dazhong Securities News” (feature code: 88). The final claim eligibility will be determined by the court.
