Ten foreign ministers strongly condemn the attack on UNIFIL forces

People’s Finance News, April 1 — On March 31, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office issued a joint statement released by the foreign ministers of ten countries, including the UK and France, and the EU’s High Representative. The statement strongly condemns recent attacks targeting the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and urges all parties to comply with international law and ensure the safety of UNIFIL personnel and their bases. The joint statement, released by the foreign ministers of ten countries — Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, and the UK — and the EU’s High Representative, says it firmly supports UNIFIL in carrying out its mission in southern Lebanon, calls for keeping channels for de-escalation of the conflict open, and strongly condemns recent attacks on UNIFIL. The statement emphasizes that these attacks have resulted in heavy casualties among peacekeeping personnel, which is unacceptable. (CCTV News)
