The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently issued a notice on the “Green Sword Protecting Grain Safety” law enforcement action for 2026 (hereinafter referred to as the “Notice”), urging and guiding localities to strictly crack down on illegal activities that harm farmers, threaten food safety, and compromise the quality safety of agricultural products in accordance with the law, safeguarding the “safety on people’s plates” and continuously solidifying the foundation of national food security. The “Notice” emphasizes the need to strengthen hazard investigations, ensuring early detection and early handling. It requires localities to conduct comprehensive investigations into clues of illegal activities on the front lines, enhancing the summary of patterns and trend analysis of similar cases. It also calls for reasonable division of inspection areas, optimization of inspection frequency, implementation of classified inspections, and enhancement of the specificity and precision of law enforcement inspections. Strictly standardize the handling of illegal clues to improve the rate of problem detection and the rate of legal punishment. (Xinhua News Agency)
