The cosmic twin "Emei" appears: Astronomers discover new evidence of star formation

Abstract generation in progress

An epic cosmic collision has recently been captured by humanity in a region of the galaxy located 45,000 light-years away from us. Astronomers have not only witnessed the extreme destruction and compression here but have also discovered a pair of “baby star clusters” that have just been born. Researchers from the Astronomy Department of Xihua Normal University have named this pair of cosmic twins “Emei.” It is understood that the star clusters named “Emei” appear very young in the universe, with an age of only about ten million years. From the birth of the “Emei” star clusters, researchers found that the Milky Way is not a closed and unchanging system. It continually attracts fresh gases from the outside, such as high-velocity clouds. These foreign materials continuously supply the Milky Way with the raw materials needed to create new stars through violent collisions. (CCTV News)
