Bank of China Hong Kong supports Hong Kong Tree Planting Day, held today with 2,000 participants

Bank of China (Hong Kong) supports one of the member organizations of the Community Resources Center, “Green Joy,” in hosting “Hong Kong Tree Planting Day 2026,” held today in Sai Kung Jiao Hang, where nearly 2,000 participants planted a total of 5,000 saplings to green Hong Kong together.

The Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Eric Chan, expressed in his speech that the HKSAR government will fully lead Hong Kong to actively align with the national “dual carbon” goals, striving to halve carbon emissions before 2035 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2050, contributing Hong Kong’s strength to the country’s ecological civilization construction.

Sun Yu, Vice Chairman and President of Bank of China (Hong Kong), stated in his speech that he hopes this event allows participants to fully enjoy the beauty of nature, the beauty of life, and the beauty of living in this important natural education and ecological restoration area in Sai Kung Jiao Hang; at the same time, hand in hand with the public to plant seeds of hope, adding new greenery to Hong Kong and laying a more solid and sustainable foundation for the city’s future development.
