The United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada, Japan, and others have issued a joint statement.
According to Xinhua News Agency, foreign ministers of the G7 member countries and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy issued a joint statement on the 27th regarding the situation in Iran, calling for efforts to reduce the regional impact of the current Middle East conflict and the spillover economic shocks.
The statement emphasized the need to mitigate the conflict’s impact on regional partners, civilians, and critical infrastructure, while coordinating humanitarian relief efforts, and called for an immediate cessation of attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
The statement noted that establishing diversified partnerships, enhancing coordination, and supporting relevant initiatives would be beneficial in alleviating the spillover economic shocks of the conflict. The statement also called for the permanent restoration of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
The G7 Foreign Ministers’ meeting (United States, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada, and Japan) was held from the 26th to the 27th in France to discuss the situation in Iran, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and global governance issues.
Additionally, according to CCTV News, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grushko met with Turkish Ambassador to Russia Bilgic in Moscow on the 27th, where they discussed the impact of attacks on tankers and gas pipeline facilities in the Black Sea region. Grushko emphasized the need to take measures to ensure energy supply security in the Black Sea region.
According to a statement released by the Russian Foreign Ministry on the 27th, the Russian and Turkish sides discussed the security situation in the Black Sea region during their meeting. The Russian side pointed out that the Ukrainian armed forces, through continuous airstrikes on gas compression stations located in the Krasnodar Krai in southwestern Russia, have caused significant damage to the operation of the “Blue Stream” and “TurkStream” gas pipelines. Bilgic expressed concern over the recent attack on a Turkish company’s tanker in the Black Sea near Turkish territorial waters.
Grushko emphasized that Ukraine’s actions must be publicly and explicitly condemned, and measures must be taken to ensure energy supply security in the region.
According to Turkish sources on the 26th, a tanker carrying 140,000 tons of crude oil, sailing from Russia to Turkey, was attacked by a drone in the Black Sea near the Bosporus Strait that day, resulting in a violent explosion.
Furthermore, according to Pakistani sources on the 28th, Pakistan will hold a quadrilateral foreign ministers’ meeting with Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia on the 30th in Islamabad to discuss ways to ease the situation in the Middle East and promote regional stability.
