International Civil Aviation Organization new regulation: Passengers can carry up to two power banks.

Xinhua News Agency, Ottawa, March 27 (Reporter Lin Wei) - The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), headquartered in Montreal, Canada, released new regulations on March 27, stating that each civil aviation passenger can carry a maximum of two power banks, and charging power banks during the flight is prohibited.

According to the newly released regulations on lithium battery power banks, crew members can still carry and use power banks based on aircraft operational needs. The new regulations took effect on March 27.

The ICAO stated in a declaration that the new regulations aim to address emerging risks and enhance the safety of passengers and airlines.

The declaration stated that the new regulations were approved by the ICAO Council following independent technical assessments based on expert recommendations. Supplementary documents related to the technical details will be distributed to ICAO member states.
