The Pentagon plans to allocate additional budget to strengthen surveillance of China, the Foreign Ministry responds.

On February 27, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a regular press conference. A reporter from Bloomberg asked, according to reports, the Pentagon plans to add a budget of $12.6 billion to strengthen monitoring of China’s military exercises, submarines, and satellites, enabling the U.S. to respond to China’s “unprecedented military expansion” in Asia. What is China’s comment on this? Mao Ning stated that the U.S. is using the so-called “China threat” as an excuse to enhance its military deployment in the Asia-Pacific, which is detrimental to regional peace and stability and does not align with the interests of regional countries.
