Lithium battery concept explodes, Rongjie Co. hits four consecutive limit-ups, Haike New Source continues to reach new highs
The lithium battery concept surged again during trading on the 27th. As of this writing, Haike Xinyuan has hit the price limit, setting a new historical high; Tianhua New Energy, Xin Runda, and Huasheng Lithium Battery have all risen over 10%, while Jiangte Motor, Yongshan Lithium Industry, and Shengxin Lithium Energy have all hit the price limit. Rongjie Co. has achieved four consecutive trading limits.
According to SMM data, the domestic energy storage cell production totaled 119.09 GWh from January to February 2026, an increase of 91% year-on-year. According to the Dazhong Times database, the total planned production in the lithium battery market for March 2026 is approximately 219 GWh, a month-on-month increase of 16.5%. Among this, the planned production for energy storage cells has increased to 40.6%, up from 37.7% at the beginning of the year.
Huatai Securities pointed out that with the 314 Ah cell being the market mainstream and production lines fully operational, super large cells such as EVE Energy’s 587 Ah and Chuangneng New Energy’s 628 Ah cells have emerged. By reducing the number of cells and simplifying system structures, large cells are expected to further lower the integrated costs of energy storage systems, potentially providing more room for lithium price increases. Due to cost-driven structural adjustments and energy security in overseas markets, the penetration of new energy + energy storage projects in the Middle East and Europe may accelerate in the medium to long term. If, in 2026, a neutral expectation is assumed (with global electric vehicle sales growing 10%-15% year-on-year and energy storage cell shipments growing 50%-60% year-on-year), it is estimated that global lithium carbonate will be in surplus by 2.4%-6.4%, maintaining a tight balance in supply and demand.
