On March 26, People’s Finance News reported that the chairman of the Civil Committee of the Islamic Parliament of Iran stated early in the morning on the 26th local time, “We are seeking a bill that can legally maintain Iran’s sovereignty, control, and regulatory rights over the Strait of Hormuz, while also generating revenue for the country through tolls.”

It is reported that the draft of this bill has been formulated, but it has not yet reached the stage of a complete plan. It will be submitted to the parliamentary research center next week for refinement with the participation of the legal team, and will be submitted and followed up after the parliament convenes. According to this bill, Iran will impose tolls on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
