China Eastern Airlines (00670) announced that on March 25, the company signed an aircraft purchase agreement with Airbus in Shanghai, China, to buy 101 A320NEO series aircraft. The aircraft are scheduled for delivery in batches from 2028 to 2032.

The company stated that, based on Airbus’s latest catalog prices provided in January 2024, the total list price for the 101 aircraft is approximately $15.802 billion (about HKD 123.256 billion). Airbus has offered the company significant price discounts for this batch of aircraft. These discounts were negotiated between the company and Airbus based on fair principles. As a result, the price is substantially lower than the listed prices of the aircraft.
