Li Qiang Speaks with Dutch Prime Minister, Says Will Explore Cooperation Potential in Green Innovation and Other Fields
Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten discussed over the phone that they should better leverage dialogue mechanisms in areas such as trade, economy, and technology, and further explore cooperation potential in green innovation and other fields; they hope the Netherlands will play an active role in promoting healthy and stable development of China-Europe relations.
CCTV News quoted Li Qiang as saying that the current international situation is becoming more turbulent. In such circumstances, it is even more important to adhere to openness to promote cooperation and to pursue practical benefits for mutual win-win outcomes.
He stated, “China is willing to work with the Netherlands to strengthen political mutual trust, uphold mutual respect, and engage in equal dialogue.”
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Dutch Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen had a phone call, during which China appreciated the positive signals sent by the new Dutch government regarding China relations and expressed willingness to deepen communication and enhance mutual trust.
In recent months, China-Dutch relations have been tightening. The reason is that in October 2025, the Dutch government, based on emergency legislation, took control of chip manufacturer Nexperia, restricting the control of its parent company, Wentech Technology.
