Qualcomm Confirms It Won't Launch New Snapdragon G Series Handheld Gaming Processor SoC at GDC 2026
IT House, February 27 — Qualcomm confirmed to The Verge that this year it will not release new Snapdragon G series gaming chip platforms at GDC Game Developers Conference, similar to 2025. Additionally, Snapdragon X2 series WoA chip platforms will not be showcased or tested at GDC 2026.

A Qualcomm spokesperson stated:
Snapdragon X series and Snapdragon G series processors are driving the advancement of the PC, desktop, and handheld gaming device industries. Our commitment remains firm, and we look forward to sharing more information about these areas.
IT House notes that this storage super cycle has significantly impacted the overall consumer electronics industry, with handheld consoles being the most affected due to smaller shipment scales and weaker bargaining power. Regarding gaming WoA devices, Qualcomm chips still have considerable room for improvement in compatibility, actual performance, and energy efficiency.
