London Stock Market Rose on the 24th
Xinhua News Agency, London, March 24 — (Reporter Zhang Yadong) The FTSE 100 Index of the London Stock Exchange closed at 9,965.16 points on March 24, up 71.01 points or 0.72% from the previous trading day. The three major European stock indices showed mixed performance that day.
Among the constituent stocks of the London Stock Exchange, the top five gainers were: BP with a 3.51% increase, BT Group with a 3.46% increase, Antofagasta with a 3.36% increase, Shell with a 3.15% increase, and ConvaTec with a 2.67% increase.
The top five decliners were: Persimmon with a 3.33% decrease, JD Sports Fashion with a 2.94% decrease, Ebiquity with a 2.66% decrease, Travis Perkins with a 2.29% decrease, and Babcock International with a 2.20% decrease.
Regarding the other two major European stock indices, the CAC 40 in Paris closed at 7,743.92 points, up 17.72 points or 0.23% from the previous day; the DAX in Frankfurt closed at 22,636.91 points, down 16.95 points or 0.07%.
