Trump: Reached 15 Points of Consensus with Iran, Strait of Hormuz May Be Jointly Controlled by US and Iran
Source: Jintou Data
On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump gave a series of media interviews while en route to West Palm Beach, signaling a possible structural shift in the Middle East situation. He announced a delay in strikes against Iran’s energy facilities and instead sought a “big deal” that includes 15 consensus points.
Trump claimed that the U.S. and Iran have reached a “major consensus,” including Iran’s promise not to develop nuclear weapons.
Trump demanded that the U.S. personally take over and remove all enriched uranium within Iran. He confidently stated, “Once we reach an agreement, moving them out will be very easy.”
Trump proposed a highly controversial idea—joint management of the Strait by U.S. and Iranian leadership or multiple parties to ensure shipping safety and, after reaching an agreement, “let oil prices plummet.”
Despite Trump’s confidence in the negotiation progress, the authenticity and the parties involved remain shrouded in mystery.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement via state media, firmly denying any direct dialogue with Washington. Reports suggest that in recent days, both sides mainly communicated through several intermediary countries rather than face-to-face.
Trump revealed that U.S. negotiations are led by Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, with communication directed toward a “respected senior figure” within the Iranian regime. According to the Jerusalem Post, a source said that the Iranian officials involved in negotiations are the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Ghalibaf.
Trump’s remarks imply a major upheaval within Iran’s leadership. He stated that Iran might need “joint leadership” or “serious regime change,” openly suggesting, “Maybe we’ll find a leader in Iran similar to the one in Venezuela.”
Trump emphasized that the negotiation target is not Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. He questioned whether Mojtaba is still alive or has the leadership capacity. He described Iran as currently in a state of “communication breakdown” and “leadership phase elimination.”
Despite signaling peace, Trump insists on requesting an additional $20 billion in war funding from Congress, citing that “the world is on the brink.”
He warned that if negotiations fail within five days, the U.S. will continue to “bomb our little hearts out.”
Congress Resistance: Even within the Republican Party, doubts about this massive funding are present. Sources say that due to the White House’s lack of detailed strategic planning, Republican leaders believe they currently lack the votes needed to pass the funding.
Trump emphasized that Israel will be “very pleased” with U.S. actions. However, at the same time, clashes between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran continue to cause casualties.
During discussions on the Middle East crisis, Trump welcomed Elon Musk’s proposal to fund airport construction and said that if immigration authorities are short-staffed, the National Guard will be deployed to airports.
