Spring Break + Qingming Holiday: 6 Days Off Together, Spring Tourism Demand Expected to Surge
The Qingming holiday in 2026 coincides with the weekend, allowing for a 3-day continuous break without taking additional days off. Meanwhile, many primary and secondary schools across the country are implementing spring vacations, generally combining a “3-day spring holiday + Qingming holiday” for a total of 6 days, significantly boosting travel from April 1 to 6.
According to data from the Tongcheng Travel platform, as of March 23, searches and bookings for flights, hotels, accommodations, and scenic spot tickets from April 1 to 6 have nearly doubled compared to the same period last year. Travelers’ demand for travel continues to grow, likely fueling a hot “Qingming Golden Week.”
Guoxin Securities states that the social service industry has recently shown multiple signs of recovery and structural opportunities. Regarding travel chains, the post-Lunar New Year tourism market remains lively, with many scenic spots offering limited-time free tickets to stimulate demand. The senior demographic has become the main force for off-peak travel. Additionally, the inbound tourism market is steadily recovering thanks to visa facilitation and major events, with Shanghai’s border entry numbers reaching a record high in a single day, injecting growth momentum into related industries.
