According to the Hong Kong Economic Times, Hong Kong Police's "Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau" disclosed that a 39-year-old woman lost over 5.5 million Hong Kong dollars in a cryptocurrency romance scam. The victim was lured by a suspect claiming to be an employee of a renewable energy company to invest in cryptocurrency on a fraudulent platform. After transferring funds to multiple unidentified FPS accounts within two months, the suspect disappeared. According to police official data, in just the past week alone, 15 similar romance scam cases have been reported, with a total fraud amount approaching 10 million Hong Kong dollars.
