Japan's Foreign Minister: Likely to Deploy Self-Defense Forces to Hormuz Strait for Minesweeping

Japanese Foreign Minister Tetsuro Mogi stated that after the United States, Israel, and Iran reach a ceasefire, Japan may send Self-Defense Forces to the Strait of Hormuz to participate in mine clearance. Mogi said, “If a ceasefire can be achieved and naval mines become an obstacle, I think it’s worth considering.” (Global Times)
