Cook says China is Apple's primary global supply chain base
People’s Financial News, March 23 — Yesterday (the 22nd) morning, the China Development Forum 2026 Annual Conference opened in Beijing. As a longtime participant of the forum—Apple CEO Tim Cook attended this year as the foreign chair of the forum. A few days before the event, he had already arrived in China. During a meeting with Minister of Commerce Wang Wenbin, the two discussed topics including China-U.S. economic and trade relations and Apple’s operations and development in China. During the exchange, Cook emphasized the importance of the Chinese market and supply chain to them. “China remains our most important base for the global supply chain. Among our top 100 core suppliers worldwide, 80 are located in China. We highly value high-quality development, have carefully studied related plans, and have adjusted our investments accordingly to ensure alignment.” (CCTV Finance)
