Wu Shuo has learned that Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas disclosed that digital asset management company CoinShares has submitted an application for a Bitcoin volatility ETF with the proposed ticker symbol CBIX. Unlike traditional ETFs that directly track spot price fluctuations, volatility ETFs are similar to VIX (fear index) related products in the traditional US stock markets. They will enable institutional and professional investors to hedge risks or engage in speculative trading based on the extreme volatility of the Bitcoin market without directly holding spot assets.
