Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 23 — According to DL News, David Balland, co-founder of Ledger in France, was kidnapped by a criminal gang in January 2025. The kidnappers cut off his fingers and extorted Bitcoin worth $11.5 million. After the incident, police acted quickly, rescuing Balland and his partner, and arresting 10 suspects at the scene. However, one suspect took advantage of the chaos to escape to Spain. After weeks of joint efforts by French and Spanish authorities, the suspect was finally captured in Benaalmadena, Spain.
