Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations Ling Ji Met with Wallenberg, Chairman of the Board of Swedish Wallenberg Group
People’s Financial News, March 23 — According to the Ministry of Commerce website, on March 23, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations Ling Ji met with Valborg, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Swedish Securitas Group. The two sides exchanged views on the development of Swedish companies in China, China-Sweden, and China-Europe economic and trade relations. Swedish Ambassador to China Oersted attended the meeting. Ling Ji pointed out that during the 14th Five-Year Plan, China will promote deep integration of technological innovation and industrial innovation to create new consumer markets. He hopes that Swedish business circles will strengthen their investment in China and share opportunities in advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, biopharmaceuticals, energy conservation, and emission reduction. Ling Ji stated that the current international situation is complex and volatile, with increased instability and uncertainty. Although China-Europe economic and trade relations face challenges, they are also full of opportunities. He hopes that Swedish business circles will play an active role, promote the European side to rationally view China-Europe competition and cooperation, properly handle trade frictions, leverage their respective advantages, further deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and find the right way for China and Europe to coexist. Valborg said that Sweden was the first Western country to establish diplomatic relations with New China. Since then, the two countries have maintained a tradition of mutually beneficial cooperation and friendly exchanges. Sweden is willing to actively seize the opportunities brought by China’s high-quality economic development and promote stable and healthy development of China-Europe economic and trade relations.
