The new leadership of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong met with reporters this afternoon. Among them, Chairman Chan Hak-kan, 5 Vice Chairmen, the Treasurer, and the Secretary-General were successfully re-elected. When asked about the impact of the committee member Wong Pik-kiu being involved in the Hong Fu Court controversy on the image of the committee, Chan Hak-kan stated that he has asked Wong Pik-kiu to fully cooperate with the committee’s work, and if the investigation results reveal any inappropriate behavior by members of the Democratic Alliance, it will be dealt with seriously.

The list of the new leadership of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) has been announced. Chan Ka-Kin has been re-elected as the chairman of the DAB, and the five vice-chairpersons, namely Chow Ho-Ding, Ko Pui-Fan, Chan Hok-Fung, Chan Hang-Bin, and Chan Yung, will also be re-elected. Treasurer Chuang Wai-Ming and Secretary-General Yip Oi-Dung will continue in their roles. The position of Deputy Secretary-General will be transferred from Yip Man-Bin to Kwun Tong District Councillor Cheung Kei-Teng. As for the Supervisory Committee, the chairmanship has been passed from Lou Man-Tuan, who has served since 2015, to Zhang Gaoli’s son-in-law, Li Sheng-Po, who is a representative from Hong Kong. Lou has been invited to serve as a consultant for the association’s affairs.

Chan Kwok-kwan affirmed Ye Wenbin’s work performance over the past two and a half years, but hopes to train different young people through this position, making them more responsible and proactive.

The Tai Po District Councillor, Huang Bi-jiao, who was embroiled in the Hung Fuk Court controversy, has been appointed as a member of the Supervisory Committee. When asked whether this would affect the committee’s image, Chan Kwok-kin emphasized that there are strict requirements for all members of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB). If there is any misconduct after the investigation, it will be “absolutely intolerable and will not be condoned.” It is noted that the independent committee has requested Huang Bi-jiao to provide relevant information and has asked her to fully cooperate with the committee’s work.
