Regarding U.S. President Trump’s statement today (March 23) that “the United States and Iran held very good and productive talks,” Iran’s Fars News Agency, citing sources, reported that “Iran has not communicated directly with the United States, nor has it communicated through any mediators.” The office of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has also not issued any statement regarding Trump’s remarks.

Earlier, Trump posted on social media saying, “I am pleased to report that the United States and Iran have had very good and productive talks over the past two days to thoroughly and comprehensively resolve our hostile actions in the Middle East. Based on the tone and atmosphere of these in-depth, detailed, and constructive discussions—which will continue this week—I have instructed the Department of Defense to delay any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for 5 days, provided that ongoing meetings and discussions are successful.” (CCTV International News)
