According to reports from Mehr News Agency and several other Iranian media outlets on the 22nd, an anonymous Iranian official stated in an interview with Lebanon’s “Al-Maidan” TV that Iran has proposed six conditions for a ceasefire. The report quoted the official as saying that some mediators in the Middle East have suggested a ceasefire to Iran, but Iran has insisted that six conditions must be met. The six conditions are: first, ensure that the war does not happen again; second, close U.S. military bases in the Middle East; third, Iran to be compensated by the aggressor; fourth, end all fighting on all fronts in the region; fifth, establish a new legal framework for the Strait of Hormuz; sixth, prosecute and hand over media personnel involved in anti-Iran activities. The official stated that based on the current military situation, Iran does not expect a ceasefire in the near future and will “continue punishing the aggressors” until they “learn from history.” The official also said that Iran’s current actions within the framework of “defensive war” are based on a plan formulated months ago, which is being implemented in phases. Additionally, according to reports from IRIB and other media outlets on the 22nd, the Iranian armed forces announced that Iran’s military strategy has shifted from defense to offense, and battlefield tactics have been adjusted accordingly.
