After U.S. President Trump announced a five-day delay in strikes on Iran’s energy facilities, international oil prices immediately declined.

New York crude oil futures fell below $100 per barrel, currently at $91.71, down $6.52 or 6.64%. London Brent crude futures dropped to $104.78, down $7.41 or 6.6%.

Earlier today, Trump posted on social media that the U.S. and Iran had conducted very good and productive talks over the past two days, and he has instructed a suspension of all military strikes on Iran’s power plants and energy infrastructure for five days.

Last Saturday, Trump posted a “final warning” on social media stating that if Iran does not fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, he will destroy all types of Iran’s power plants.
