U.S. President Trump posted on social media today (March 14) denying reports that “5 U.S. refueling planes at a base in Saudi Arabia were destroyed,” specifically criticizing media such as the U.S. “New York Times” and “Wall Street Journal,” stating that their reports are “completely contrary to the facts,” and accusing some media of attempting to influence public perception of the war situation through their reporting.

According to Trump, there was indeed a base that was attacked a few days ago, but the related aircraft were not “hit” or “destroyed”. He stated that 4 out of the 5 tankers were “hardly damaged and have been put back into service”; the other one was “damaged a bit more”, but “is expected to be back in the air soon”.
