The Wujiang High-Tech Zone in Jiangsu recently launched a comprehensive support package called “Crab Farming,” a metaphorical name reflecting the nurturing of startups and tech communities. This initiative includes 12 targeted policies to support the integration of open-source projects like OpenClaw with the OPC community, offering individual support exceeding 5 million yuan per eligible project.

Supporting Industrial Localization and Local Cloud Platforms

The new policies focus on attracting and localizing tech projects within the region, especially those providing free development and distribution tools. The plan offers full subsidies of up to 1 million yuan for local cloud platforms supporting open-source project deployment. Additionally, OPC projects relying on advanced intelligent computing platforms in the region will receive support of up to 300,000 yuan annually, based on actual expenses per project.

Incentives for AI and Smart Robotics Development

The second phase of “Crab Farming” emphasizes developing advanced applications in vital industrial fields. Projects developing specialized intelligent models for industrial quality inspection and predictive maintenance based on the OpenClaw platform will be rewarded with 500,000 yuan, provided they obtain national registration. Furthermore, major technological advancements in intelligent robotics and automated quality inspection systems will receive support of up to 5 million yuan, highlighting a strategic focus on smart industry.

Establishing Open Labs and Standardized Industrial Protocols

Policies encourage the creation of joint laboratories at the intersection of AI and manufacturing, offering incentives of up to 1 million yuan for leading entities developing open-source frameworks or establishing new industrial standards. This approach reflects the region’s efforts to build an integrated ecosystem combining R&D with practical applications, laying a solid foundation for sustainable technological development in the industrial sector.

Overall, this “Crab Farming” initiative represents a strategic government investment in future technologies and open-source communities.
