On March 17, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian hosted a routine press conference.

A reporter asked whether China is considering providing humanitarian aid to relevant countries in light of the recent statement by the UN Refugee Agency that this round of crises in the Middle East constitutes a major humanitarian emergency, with affected regions totaling 25 million refugees, numerous innocent civilians injured or killed in Iran, about 800,000 displaced in Lebanon, and countries like Jordan and Iraq affected.

Lin Jian responded that China has always practiced the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, upholding internationalism and humanitarian spirit. The ongoing conflict has caused severe humanitarian disasters for the people in Iran and other regional countries. China expresses sympathy and offers condolences to the people of the affected countries.

Lin Jian stated that China has decided to provide emergency humanitarian aid to Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq, hoping to help alleviate the humanitarian difficulties faced by the local populations. China will continue to do its part to promote peace and stop the fighting, pushing for the early restoration of regional peace and stability, and preventing the further spread of the humanitarian crisis.
