Xinhua News Agency Beirut, March 14 — (Reporter Shen Feng, Cao Changhao) The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced on the 14th that Israel carried out an airstrike on a medical center in Burej Kharaviyeh town in southern Lebanon, resulting in at least 12 healthcare workers killed, 1 injured, and 4 missing.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health stated that the victims included doctors, emergency responders, and nurses on duty at the time. Rescue operations are still ongoing.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health also refuted Israeli military claims that “Lebanese ambulances are being used for military purposes,” stating that such accusations are intended to justify their “crimes against humanity.”

The department said this was the second attack on medical personnel by the Israeli military within a few hours. Previously, the Israeli military attacked emergency responders in Sawanah town in southern Lebanon. Since March 2, Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of 26 Lebanese emergency responders and injuries to 51 others. (End)
