Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po has completed his visit to Beijing and is departing for Hong Kong this afternoon.

This morning in Beijing, Paul Chan co-chaired the 8th Mainland-Hong Kong Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee meeting with Assistant Minister of Commerce Yuan Xiaoming. They reviewed the progress of economic and trade cooperation between Mainland China and Hong Kong over the past year and discussed future work of the committee, including the implementation of the Arrangement on Establishing Closer Economic and Trade Relations between the Mainland and Hong Kong, jointly promoting the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, supporting Hong Kong’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative, and regional economic cooperation.

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau and Belt and Road Office Commissioner Ho Lik-chi attended the meeting.
