According to the latest data from OpenRouter, Daily Economic News estimates that last week (March 16 to March 22), the total global AI large model usage was 20.4 trillion tokens, a 20.7% increase week-over-week. Among the listed AI large models, China’s AI models saw their weekly usage rise to 7.359 trillion tokens, up 56.91% from the previous week; the US AI models had a weekly usage of 2.954 trillion tokens, a 10.32% decrease week-over-week. China’s AI large models have surpassed US models in weekly usage for three consecutive weeks.

Daily Economic News notes that last week, the top four global usage rankings were all Chinese AI models. Xiaomi Mino V2 Pro ranked first, with a weekly usage of 1.49 trillion tokens; Jiēyuè Xīngchén Step 3.5 Flash (free) ranked second, with 1.48 trillion tokens, a 10% increase; MiniMax M2.5, which had ranked first for five consecutive weeks, fell to third place with 1.3 trillion tokens, a 26% decrease; DeepSeek V3.2 ranked fourth, with 1.14 trillion tokens, a 10% increase.
