Two sources told the media that due to the Iran conflict and the actual closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the state-owned oil giant Abu Dhabi National Oil Company has implemented large-scale shutdowns, causing the UAE’s daily oil production to drop by more than half.

The disruption of this critical maritime passage has caused significant damage to the global energy markets. Under normal circumstances, this route is used to transport about one-fifth of the world’s oil supply.

Earlier on Monday, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company suspended oil loading operations at the UAE’s Fujairah Port (a major oil fueling and storage hub) following a drone attack. Operations had just resumed on Sunday after another attack over the weekend.
