On the evening of March 15, CCTV’s 3.15 Gala exposed the bleaching of chicken feet, and the related company of Guai Wife Chicken Feet, Chongqing Zengqiao Food Co., Ltd., was named.

Subsequently, consumers expressed high concern about the safety of Youyou Chicken Feet, and the topic “Youyou Chicken Feet” trended on social media. A customer service representative from Youyou’s flagship store responded, “Our products do not use hydrogen peroxide during production. All products are strictly made according to national standards, so you can purchase with confidence. Every product on the market must have relevant testing reports uploaded to the platform before sale.”

CCTV reported that at Chongqing Zengqiao Food Co., Ltd., reporters also found a large number of recycled blue packaging barrels, with labels clearly indicating hydrogen peroxide, commonly known as double oxygen water, with a content as high as 35%. The manufacturer is Jinshan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Mianyang, Sichuan.

The report mentioned that to verify the truth, reporters applied for a job as ordinary workers. Without health certificates, physical exams, or disinfection, they successfully entered the production line of the company. During the investigation, internal staff personally confirmed that the chicken feet here are indeed bleached with hydrogen peroxide.
