A-Share Close Review: Opened High, Closed Low! ChiNext Index Falls Over 2%, Over 4,500 Stocks Decline Across Market, CPO and Optical Communication Sectors Plunge
Gelonghui March 17 | The three major A-share indices opened higher and then declined today, with all closing lower. By the end of the trading session, the Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.85% to 4,049 points, the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 1.87%, and the ChiNext Index declined 2.29%. The total market turnover was 2.22 trillion yuan, down 115.3 billion yuan from the previous trading day, with over 4,500 stocks falling.
In the market, the CPO concept, optical communication, and communication equipment sectors plunged sharply, with stocks like Tiantong Shares and Woge Optoelectronics hitting the daily limit down. The cultivated diamond sector declined, with Yellow River Cyclone hitting the limit down. The laser equipment sector weakened, with Jepte dropping over 7%. The printed circuit board (PCB) and related sectors were sluggish, with Zhongfu Circuit falling nearly 12%. Other sectors such as recombination fluids, F5G concepts, and fiberglass manufacturing also saw significant declines. Additionally, insurance and brokerage stocks rose against the trend, led by New China Insurance and Guoxin Securities. The chemical fiber industry strengthened, with Zhongfu Shenying hitting the 20% daily limit. The steel sector rose, with Anyang Steel hitting the limit up.
