[Caixin] After more than a year of investigation, the U.S. Department of Commerce has abandoned the imposition of anti-dumping or countervailing duties on imports of Chinese anode materials.

On March 12 (local time), the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce found that imports of anode materials from China are sold at prices below fair value and are subsidized by the Chinese government, but these imports have not materially hindered the development of U.S. domestic industry.

This means that the anti-dumping and countervailing duties previously announced by the U.S. Department of Commerce in this sector will be fully abandoned. Market analysts believe this final ruling reflects the short-term high dependence of the U.S. new energy industry chain on China.
