Japanese Intellectuals Call on Japan to Face History and Avoid Repeating the Mistakes of War

In recent years, the Japanese government has continuously increased defense spending, discussed amending the “Three Non-Nuclear Principles,” and sought to relax restrictions on military expansion, sparking criticism and concerns among Japanese intellectuals. Sun Zhi Xiang, director of the Japan-East Asia Community Research Institute, stated in an interview with the main station reporter that Japan must face the fact that it was an aggressor, genuinely follow the international order, and seek understanding from neighboring countries based on deep reflection on its own guilt to avoid repeating the mistakes of war.
