(MENAFN- IANS) Chennai, March 14 (IANS) The makers of director Vignesh Raja’s upcoming action entertainer “Kara,” starring actor Dhanush in the lead, released “Vaaya Ey Karasaami,” the first lyric video from the film, on Saturday, much to the excitement of fans and movie enthusiasts.

The dark, percussion-heavy song is a plea to the deity Karasaami (which also happens to be the name of the film’s protagonist), asking it to act against the wicked and end the chaos they have started. The song, a somber number, urges the deity to take revenge.

Composed by music director G V Prakash Kumar, the lyrics are by Arunraja Kamaraj, and the song is performed by Arunraja Kamaraj, Anthony Daasan, Satyan, and V M Mahalingam.

The release has only heightened fans’ anticipation, as they eagerly await the film’s release scheduled for April 30 this year.

It is recalled that the film’s title was announced during Pongal this year. The makers also released a poster showing Dhanush with an intense look. The poster read, “Sometimes, staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive.”

Director Vignesh Raja shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, “D54 is Kara. An emotionally rooted suspense thriller. We are coming this summer. #D54 is #Kara. #HappyPongal #HappySankranti. Directed by @vigneshraja89. Produced by @IshariKGanesh. A @gvprakash musical.”

Earlier, the production house shared a still of Dhanush from the film on social media, saying, “Straight from the sets of #D54 - Shoot in progress! @dhanushkraja.” The image shows Dhanush speaking from an STD booth.

The film features Mamitha Baiju as the heroine and boasts a strong cast along with a talented technical crew.

In addition to Dhanush and Mamitha Baiju, the film will also feature director K S Ravikumar, Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Karunas, and Prithvi Pandiraj in key roles.

On the technical side, cinematography will be handled by one of the best in the industry, Theni Eswar, and editing by Sreejith Sarang. The music will be composed by National Award winner G V Prakash.

Most notably, the story was co-written by writer Alfred Prakash and director Vignesh Raja, the creators of the critically acclaimed hit investigative thriller “Por Thozhil.”

Writer Alfred Prakash, a close friend of director Vignesh Raja, revealed in an earlier interview that both Vignesh and he understand each other very well.

The writers, who took four years to finalize the script of “Por Thozhil,” believe that it is better when two people collaborate on a story, as each can use the other’s feedback to refine ideas.
