On CCTV’s 3.15 Evening Gala, Suzhou Yingruike Height and Physical Conditioning Center (Suzhou Yingruike Health Management Co., Ltd.) was exposed for false advertising, lack of scientific basis, and excessive profiteering. The person in charge, Mr. Pan, openly claimed that they could achieve “closed growth enhancement,” which defies scientific knowledge. “Closed growth enhancement is a combined approach. I also have psychological therapy, quantum repair, and even metaphysical methods. As long as parents are willing to pay, all can be included in the growth package,” Mr. Pan stated during the interview. “It’s all a scam. They advertise physical growth, but there’s no scientific basis. We still make money—very high profits.” He also admitted, “There are no medical data or clinical validation reports. I just want to make money.”

Around 8:30 a.m. on March 16, a Securities Times reporter arrived at the headquarters of Suzhou Yingruike Height and Physical Conditioning Center. The office on the 24th floor had a notice on the glass door stating “Internal Rectification, Temporarily Closed.” Although the main door was closed, the lights inside Room 2402, managed by Suzhou Yingruike Enterprise Management Co., Ltd., were on.

At about 8:50 a.m., several relevant department personnel arrived at the office, knocked on the door, and entered to communicate with the responsible persons. Around 9:39 a.m., two more staff members from the Market Supervision Administration entered the office. Around 10:00 a.m., more department staff conducted on-site investigations and handling.

A “Consent Form for Growth Enhancement Services” found in the office indicated that their 8S growth services included: exercise promotion, nutritional enhancement, sleep optimization, posture correction, traditional Chinese medicine therapy, psychological intervention, monitoring, and assessment.

Information from Yingruike’s official website shows that it is a nationwide chain of height management institutions, focusing on height management for adolescents aged 6–18. It claims to have “authoritative 8S scientific growth enhancement technology, based on integrated solutions from anatomy, nutrition, traditional Chinese medicine, and other disciplines.” The website also states that the organization has dozens of branches in cities including Suzhou, Shanghai, Wuxi, Changzhou, Nantong, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Jiaxing, Ningbo, Hefei, Wuhan, Chongqing, Xiamen, Zhengzhou, Jinan, Quanzhou, Fuzhou, Taiyuan, Hohhot, Cixi, Lianyungang, Changsha, and others. A consumer who traveled from out of town said they spent 29,800 yuan to help their child grow taller and came this time because they were worried the company might “run away.”

The Securities Times learned from relevant departments in Suzhou that, in response to the false advertising related to adolescent physical growth exposed during CCTV’s 3.15 Gala, the market regulation departments at the city and district levels, in cooperation with relevant agencies, immediately organized a comprehensive investigation. They verified the relevant business locations registered within the city and took legal action against those involved in illegal activities to effectively protect consumers’ legitimate rights and interests.
