Meituan's Wang Xing and the management team emphasize: steadfastly pursue internationalization and focus on instant retail.

On the morning of March 13, Meituan held a management communication meeting for 2026. Meituan CEO Wang Xing shared his views on the development of the grocery retail industry, internationalization, and AI.
When mentioning Meituan’s internationalization, Wang Xing summarized it as, “坚定国际化,聚焦国际化” (“Firmly internationalize and focus on internationalization”). “The company’s confidence in internationalization is unwavering, and our determination is clear, but we are not blindly expanding, nor are we exploring every business separately.”
Wang Xing said that over the past year, the company’s confidence in internationalization remains steadfast, and its resolve is clear. But what we need to do is relatively focused. Meituan’s firm internationalization does not mean all businesses should expand simultaneously at this time. We should focus on the core—“instant retail”. Apart from Hong Kong, Meituan Keeta has completed coverage of major countries in the Middle East Gulf region and is expanding in Brazil.
Wang Xing mentioned that Brazil has enormous long-term value and is worth deep cultivation, but investments there should not be rolled out everywhere. Instead, we should select suitable locations, forget our previous success experiences, refine the model, and then expand. Therefore, Meituan will develop steadily in Brazil but will not expand blindly.
According to publicly available information, Keeta is Meituan’s international food delivery brand, mainly engaged in food delivery services.
On September 9, 2024, Keeta entered the Saudi Arabian market, and by August 2025, it covered more than 20 cities locally.
In May 2025, it was announced that an investment of $1 billion would be made over five years to enter the Brazilian market. After Didi’s subsidiary 99Food implemented an exclusive merchant agreement and successfully sued the local court, Keeta’s food delivery platform officially launched in Brazil on December 1 of the same year.
Additionally, in 2025, Keeta gradually expanded into multiple countries: in August, it expanded to Qatar; in September, it launched operations in Kuwait; at the end of September, it started operations in Dubai, UAE; and on October 28, it launched operations in Abu Dhabi, UAE. On November 14, media reports indicated that Keeta was planning to enter the Indian food delivery market.
