Google Introduces Cross-Platform "Buy Once, Play Anywhere" Feature for Play Store, Breaking Down Gaming Barriers Between PC and Mobile
Tech Home, March 17 — Google announced the introduction of a cross-platform purchase feature called “Buy Once, Play Anywhere” for the Play Store, initially supporting titles like Dungeon Clawler, OTTTD, and the Reigns series.
According to Google, this feature is similar to Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere (XPA). Players who purchase a supported game with the “Buy Once, Play Anywhere” mechanism on their phone or tablet can then download and install it directly on the PC via the Play Store without paying again.
Additionally, Google has launched a Game Trials feature on the Play Store, allowing players to try a demo version of paid games before deciding to purchase the full version.
Google also revealed that approximately 160 million users download and purchase various games from the Play Store. With the new feature, players will no longer be limited to their phones or screens—they can bring their purchased games to larger devices like PCs to continue their gaming journey.
