eBay Inc. announced it will cut approximately 6% of its global workforce, or about 800 employees, as part of a restructuring effort to reduce costs and realign operations. This is the third round of layoffs for the company in three years, with management citing rising costs and headcount growth outpacing the business as reasons for the reduction. Despite the news, eBay’s shares traded higher, adding 3.4% and showing a 27% increase over the last 12 months.
