Walmart Inc. has agreed to pay $100 million to settle allegations from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission that the company deceived delivery drivers in its Spark program about their potential earnings, including base pay, incentive pay, and tips. The FTC, joined by 11 states, alleges that Walmart also falsely claimed all customer tips would go to drivers. As part of the settlement, Walmart will implement an earnings verification program and has stated it has already begun making payments to affected drivers.
